We can ask the time by using different sentences: 

a) What time is it?

b) What's the time?

To answer and tell the time, we use 'It's ...'

Look at these conversation:

-Hello, Max, how are you?

-Hi, Ruby! I'm great, and you?

-Me too! I go home everyday at half past two. What time is it now?

-It's half past two! You need to go!

-OK! Thank you! 

-Bye, take care!

-You too! Goodbye!
