Here are some more of the most well-known film soundtracks in movie history. 

Back to the Future is a 1985 adventure film with this main theme by Alan Silvestri. It stars Michael J. Fox as a teenager who accidentally travels back in time.

We have already heard the scary music to Jaws. Here is another creepy theme tune, that belongs to the Halloween films (the first and probably the best one was in 1978). It is a very scary film about a murderer. Do you think the music is frightening, too? It was composed by John Carpenter, who also directed the film.

You may have seen the Lord of the Rings films (the first one was in 2001). They are epic fantasy adventure films based on the books by J.R.R.Tolkien. This famous theme, "The Bridge of Khazad Dum", was written by Howard Shore, a well-known Canadian film composer who has written many famous soundtracks.

Here is a catchy theme tune: Mission: Impossible, a series of American spy action films starring Tom Cruise. The theme was written by Argentine composer Lalo Schiffrin.

One of the most successful writers of film music working today is the German composer Hans Zimmer. He has written the music for the such successful films as Pirates of the Caribbean and the recent Batman films, the Dark Knight trilogy. His work is notable for intergrating electronic music with tradicional orchestral arrangements. Here is his soundtrack for Gladiator (2000).
