Here's a really easy question for you to begin with.....

How would you classify the music in musical films?

Taking into account that in musicals the characters usually sing and dance a lot?

Diegetic or non diegetic?.......

Sometimes, but not always, musical films are based on theatre productions.

Film directors adapt the musicals that have been successful in the theatre to make a film.

Other times, musical films are simply created without any previous theatre production.

In any case, do you like musicals?

- Divide yourselves in class into groups of three or four.

- Has one of you got a paper and pen ready?

- A volunteer, or perhaps your teacher, can get a stopwatch ready.

- IN ONE MINUTE, AND WITHOUT LETTING THE OTHER GROUPS IN CLASS HEAR YOU,

WRITE DOWN AS MANY MUSICAL FILMS AS YOU CAN REMEMBER.
