This is a three-voice canon, Pachelbel’s Canon in D major (with F# and C#). The score includes three different instruments (violin, recorder, guitar) so that the three voices can be distinguished. It includes a sequence of chords known as the Canon Chord Progression and it is as follows: D (I) – A (V) – Bm (VIm) – F#m (IIIm) – G (IV) – D (I) – G (IV) – A (V). This chord sequence can be used with any scale. This sequence is widely used in other pieces from different years and styles, with some variation, such as Basket Case (Green Day), Let It Be (The Beatles), Cryin’ (Aerosmith), and Go West originally by Village People and later covered by the Pet Shop Boys, where the similarities with the canon became more apparent.

Canon 1: voices

Study and memorize the voices of the canon separately. Listen to the sound and then sing the notes aloud according to their pitch while keeping the right time signature with the corresponding hand movements

Watch the video corresponding to the third voice and try to sing while the melody is playing. If you have rehearsed enough, you won't have any problems with the notes and their pitch.
