PREPOSITIONS: in / on / at

PREPOSITIONS: 

In / on / at:

ON

  • With days of the week, we use ON

Example: I go to the beach on Sundays. 

  • With dates, we also use ON:

Example: My birthday is on the 28th of March. 




IN:

  • With months of the year, we use IN

Example: My birthday is in January. 

  • With some parts of the day, we also use in

Examples:

I go to school in the morning.

I read comics in the afternoon. 

I have dinner in the evening. 

But 

I go to sleep at night. 

  • With seasons of the year, we also use in

Examples:

I go to Canary Islands in summer. 

I celebrate Christmas in winter. 



AT:

  • With some parts of the day:

Examples:

I sleep at night.

I have lunch at midday. (MIDDAY= MEDIODÍA)

I am sleeping at midnight. (MIDNIGHT = MEDIANOITE)

  • With hours: 

Example: I have an exam at ten o'clock in the morning.
