ADAPTATIONS OF POPULAR
TALES
Popular tales are mechanisms of society to keep traditions, indiosyncrasies, and identity elements. Besides, they constitute an endless source of lessons for life, of popular knowledge, of theat "common sense" which allows peoples keep the desirable social relationships. The adaptations of these works, sometimes, do not totally respect some important original elements, and in some occasions they eliminate some essences of a localist type, so enriching for the stories. The risk with these publications may lay on the excessive internationalization of plots, which erase relevant details, so as to reach a broader range of readers from differents countries and cultures. |
