1- An interval is the distance between two different sounds. 4th, 5th and 8va intervals are considered perfect intervals
2- All 5th intervals including notes without accidentals are perfect 5th intervals. They contain three tones and one semitone. There is an exception, the B-F interval, which contains two tones and two semitones. It is called a diminished 5th interval.
3- A fermata, also called a pause, is a symbol placed above or below a note or a rest. It indicates that the note or rest will last longer depending on the performer’s will.
4-A tie is a curved line that connects two or more notes of the same pitch. It indicates that the notes should be played as a single note with a duration equal to the total value of the tied notes. Ties may be placed above or below the notes. They may be also placed across barlines.
