Ana Torroja (1960) was the lead singer of the Spanish pop band Mecano from the 80s to the 90s. Nacho and José María Cano were the other two members of the band. It was the most successful Spanish band of all times. First, their music was synthpop and later, they moved to pop rock, sometimes mixed with salsa, dance, boleros, flamenco, etc. They split up in 1998 and they continued their solo careers though they have released some songs together since then.

Katy Perry (1984) is an American singer, actress and songwriter. She started singing gospel but soon became a pop star. Some of her songs talk about politics and self-empowerment. She has sold 145 million records around the world.
