Listen to two of the previous paragraphs and complete with the right word.

They started playing in 1963 and in the 70s they were already famous. Their music was only instrumental: a pipe, a bodhrán, a and a whistle but they are known for collaborating with other musicians as different as Milladoiro and Carlos Núñez or The Rolling Stones and Luciano Pavaroti. One of their albums is Santiago, dedicated to the music of Galicia. The Irish government them the title of 'Ireland's Musical Ambassadors' in 1989.

Irish folk music use instruments such as uillean , fiddles, flutes and , accordion, bodhráin, bouzoukis, banjos and . Most songs have got but some others can be unaccompanied by instruments. Their rocketed in the second half of the 20th century when their music all around Europe and the USA.

Cristina Pato (1980) is a Galician bagpiper, composer and educational adviser. She has worked for Harvard University and belongs to the Artist Commitee of Americans for the Arts. She plays Galician folk music but she is also interested in jazz, classical and latin music.
