7.5. The face-off

Players have to play a face-off shot to start a floorball match and each period.

There are some aspects about the face-off that you can learn just by having a look at the table below:

WHEN the face-off is played At the beginning of a floorball match.
At the beginning of each period.
In case of doubt of the referee.
WHERE the face-off is played From the centre dot.
Both teams has to be on their sides.
HOW the face-off is played A player of each team has to aproach the ball that is on the centre dot.
Their sticks must be parallel to the centre line touching the floor with their blades.
The others players has to be 3 metres away from the centre dot.
After the whistle, both players go to the ball, trying to hit it back to their own teammates.
A goal can be scored.
