The goalkeeper is a very important player in floorball.
These are the specific rules that the goalkeeper has to follow:
- The goalkeeper can not play with the hockey stick.
- The goalkeeper can stop the ball with any part of the body.
- The goalkeeper must either stand up or crouch down.
- The goalkeeper is not allowed to kneel down, lie down or sit down.
- If the goalkeeper grabs the ball then it must be played before 3 seconds are up. The ball must touch the floor or the side of the court or a player before crossing the centre line.
- The goalkeeper cannot score a goal.
- The goalkeeper cannot abandon the goalkeeping area.
- The goalkeeper can wear long trousers, a long sleeve shirt, knee pads and a mask.
