Melodic reading practice 3

Melodic reading practice 3

gif accordionHow about practising triad chords? We'll start with the C major triad and continue with D minor. The goal of the exercise is to sing each note of the triad in ascending order along with the octave. Then, the model is repeated as many times as needed in canon form, just as shown in the sheet music. Sing the notes aloud according to their pitch and keep the right time signature with the corresponding hand movements.

Exercise 1: C major chord

Here's the first exercise and this is the image of the chord. C major chord.  Sing each note of the triad in ascending order along with the octave (C-E-G-high C).

Use the sound to see how well you are doing.

And there's a video below to use while you sing the third line of melody in the score.

Exercise 2: D minor chord

D minor chord This is D minor chord and below you have the score to practise.

Again there's a sound file and the video score to check your improvements. Each note of the triad is sung in ascending order along with the octave (D-F-A-high D). Then, the model is repeated as many times as needed in canon form, just as shown in the score.

Now you also have the video to practise while you follow the notes. This time you have to perform the second line while the music plays.
