Rosalind Franklin was born in 1920 in London. She was a very famous British scientist. She studied chemistry in Cambridge and worked in Paris. She studied a lot and discovered the structure of the DNA. But, what is the DNA? That’s an interesting question. The DNA is the material that carries our genetic information and it is in every cell of any living creature. Our genes determine our illnesses and the colour of our eyes and hair. It’s extremely important! She travelled to London and studied the structure of DNA and working with two scientists discovered that DNA is like a double helix. She was very intelligent, but people didn’t believe in her discoveries. She died some years later and the two man that worked with Rosalind at the laboratory won the Nobel Prize, but it was thanks to Rosalind’s work!
