World disability Day

On December the 3rd we celebrate the Day of People with Disabilities. When someone has a disability it means he or she has to work harder or in a different way. We have to be empathic, help others and understand that differences make us stronger. Hellen Keller had 3 different disabilities.
She was blind, she couldn't see. She used a special alphabet, the Braille system. It is a code based on the sense of touch. Louis Braille created this language in the 19th century, because he became blind in an accident. In this language the letters of the alphabet are represented with small dots and blind people have to touch and identify the letters. Hellen was also deaf, she couldn't hear. Deaf people use sign language to communicate. They use their hands and fingers to sign words. When she was a kid, Helen couldn't speak. People who have trouble with communication, as autistic people, can use pictograms to communicate.
