You may be wondering what a podcast is. Well, a podcast is basically a recorded audio programme about a specific

topic that can be downloaded from the internet or apps like Spotify and listened to on an MP3 player or an electronic

device such as a computer, a laptop or a tablet.

There are many types of podcasts (interview, monologue, storytelling, etc.) covering diferent genres (news, comedy,

society, culture, sport, health, fiction, etc.) you can listen to in order to learn new things or just for entertainment.

They differ from radio shows in that the latest are broadcast live for the audience instead of being prerecorded.

Some interesting free UK podcast websites  for you are:

  • Storynory where you will find amusing stories that you can listen to and read at the same time.
  • Super Great Kids Stories, accompanied by a brief summary of what the story is about.
  • Fun kids, with a wide variety of interesting topics and curiosities to learn about, but also allowing you to listen to the radio LIVE on their radio player (https://www.funkidslive.com/player/)
  • Kids poetry Club, offering a funny way to improve your listening and learning about words that rhyme at the same time.
  • Not just for kids, where those films that you, kids, love are revisited.

Now, all hands on deck! Your task is to choose one podcast among those websites suggested here above and write

a summary about what you have listened to, including the main ideas. Complete the following worksheet when you

finish and remember that you can listen to the podcast as many times as you wish and/or need to.

We will bring together what we have listened to and learnt individually and our personal opinion about the podcast

chosen.
