LIVE MUSIC 3: Breathing and wrist warm-up
a) Improving breathing.

| It is important to breathe properly when you play any wind instrument, not only to keep enough oxygen in your blood but also to produce a correct sound. This exercise is very easy. First, you need to have a correct posture: your back has to be straight and your feet flat on the floor. Then, you have to inhale for one beat and exhale for seven beats. You have to breathe on time and the stream has to be steady. Use the video to help you follow the beats. |
b)Articulation exercises. Warm-up exercises for your voice are important before singing for several reasons: They help make your voice healthy and last longer, they are the best training to become a better singer because you can improve your resonance, vocal technique and register and they also help you enhance your ability to recognise intervals, scales and intonations. Here you have some vowel sound exercises.
| c) Wrist warm-up. In unit 2 we learnt about the importance of warming up parts of the body that make a great effort while playing and we also learnt which parts every player should warm up depending on the instrument. Here there are some exercises to make your wrists work smoothly and avoid injuries that may be produced by repetitive exercises. |
