LIVE MUSIC 1: Relaxation tips
When you have to perform in front of other students or at a concert, you may feel some "stage fright". There are some things you can do to relieve that nervousness, for example:
- Practise enough so as to be well prepared.
- Get a full night's sleep.
- Eat healthily.
- Shake out your muscles.
- Focus on positive things.
- Practise some relaxation exercises, such as box breathing or visualization.
1. Box breathing is a technique that increases oxygen in the lungs and lower heart beats. Follow the instructions to do it correctly.
- Breathe in for 5 seconds.
- Hold your breath for 5 seconds.
- Breathe out for 5 seconds.
- Hold your breath lungs empty for 5 seconds
- Repeat this seven to ten times in a row, focusing on the breath.
This technique helps you reduce stress and anxiety and improve your focus and concentration.
