Melodic reading practice. Exercises

gif microfono1- Look through the staves in the exercises and sing the notes aloud according to their pitch. 

2- Listen to the sound file and to check if you have done it properly.

3- You should increase speed gradually every time you sing the notes and at the same time keep the right pitch.

4- Deciso is an expression marking that means "with determination" and Con moto means "with movement".

gif bongoHere's a canon to sing.

1- Study the score, sing the notes of the three voices aloud making sure to perform the right pitch. Practise hand movements to represent the correct time signature. The goal is that you accurately learn each of the voices.

2. Check your progress with the sound file.

3. Rehearse enough till you have no doubts and can perform the voices properly and fluently.

4. Dolce is an expression marking that means sweet and gentle.

Exercise 2

Now that you have learnt the three voices, sing one voice at a time while you listen to all the voices and watch the video to follow the score. Be careful and maintain the pitch of the voice you are singing. Pay attention to marcato, staccato, slurs and accent markings.

This is the video score for the second exercise. Make sure you practise enough each of the three voices to do it fluently.
