Identifying meters
Time signatures, meter and accent are closely related. As you have studied in the interactive video Reading Music III, a time signature indicates a regular pattern of accented and unaccented beats in bars. Metre refers to the organization of these beats inside the bars and accent is the emphasis on a particular note to set it apart from the rest of notes. Listen to these examples.
