Instruments in Classicism and Romanticism
The most important instrument in those periods was the piano because it was both an easy one to play and a nice piece of furniture to have in bourgeoisie’s dining rooms. Piano as we know it nowadays appeared in the Romanticism, before that it was called fortepiano (Cristofori).
But it was a soloist instrument, and for great compositions like symphonies there was the orchestra.
We’ve already seen how great groups like orchestras emerged in the Baroque period. These were mainly made up of string instruments, and some wind and percussion ones.
Clarinet appeared in the Classicism and Mozart included it in the orchestra. A classical orchestra could be:

During Romanticism orchestras increased with the incorporation of new instruments like the English horn, the contrabassoon, the celesta, the harp and the tuba.
