Easter is, by no means, an unknown tradition for you, as we celebrate that Christian holiday in Spain too.  However,

there are many other celebrations in the UK that may blow your mind. You have probably bumped into some of

them in the previous shared brainstorming.

.

Now, it's time for you to work along with a classmate and get a deeper knowledge of one of the weird traditions

that we can find in the UK. In pairs, you will look for one celebration/ tradition you like or impresses you more.

After having researched a bit and chosen one, you will write your choice on a list provided by the teacher, so as

to avoid that other classmates work on the same tradition. There are plenty of them so repetition is not allowed.

.

Read carefully these pair task steps:

1st) Choose a funny, shocking or weird British tradition.

2nd) Gather information and pictures about it, not missing the following:

- Name

- Date of the celebration

- Place of the celebration within the UK (nationwide, city, region?)

- Explanation of what it is about.

- Pictures

- Who can partiticipate (everyone including kids, only adults?)

- Objects, clothes, etc. needed.

3rd) Create a simple and clear powerpoint presentation with all this information. Avoid copying and pasting long

paragraphs that you do not understand. All the sentences and words used by you must be understood and easy

to explain to the others.

TIP: The first slide is the cover with the title, a picture and your names below. The second slide is the INDEX. The

remaining ones can be as follows but you can also use a different structure. Always check with your teacher while

working: 1. Date of the celebration, 2. Place of the celebration (show it on a UK map, too), 3. What is ... about ?,

4. Participants, 5. Objects needed.

.

Stick to the following evaluation markers :

1. Pair work (a questionnaire about your partner declaring their degree of active participation in the team, respecting others' ideas, helping each

other within the team or proposing ideas), 2. Correct  content structure, including index, 3. Exposition of clear and simple ideas, 4. Pronunciation ,

5. Fluency,  6. Voice volume, 7. Intonation, 8. Use of grammar and  9. Eye contact with your spectators, 10. Creativity.

.

If you want to make it funnier you are welcome to make a sample representation of that celebration with your

partner. Bring to clasroom whatever you need to that end. Everybody will enjoy for sure! This will be taken into

account for the mark too.
