There are different music styles such as RAGTIME, which emerged in the 80s of the 19th century, where the fundamental element is the piano; its maximum exponent is Scott Joplin.
BLUES, which emerged in 1830, includes songs that the African slaves sang to make their tasks more bearable in the latifundia of the South of the USA and in Detroit and Chicago areas; Sam Cooke or Bessie Smith are representatives of this style.
JAZZ emerged in the 19th century, on the part of African-Americans, where its fundamental element is improvisation. Among its representatives we find Ella Fitzgerald and Glenn Miller.
ROCK & ROLL, emerged in 1959 as a social movement of rebellion by youth. It is a new style white people sang and articulated an identity. Its main representative is Elvis Presley. The precursor of this style was COUNTRY and one of its representatives is Wanda Jackson.
RITHM & BLUES, which emerged in 1960, music close to pop, more aggressive attitude that mixes rock and blues. Its main exponents are the Rolling Stones.
POP was born at the same time as the previous one and the king and queen are Michael Jackson and Madonna.
GLAM, emerged in 1970 in London as a reaction against Rock, related to the world of psychedelia. Its main representative is David Bowie.
At the same time comes PUNK, music that represents the worker, his work in the factories and reactionary movement with his slogan "there is no future" represented in Ramones.
Finally REGGAE, music with a slower pace than its precursor SKA, that was faster ; its maximum representatives are Bob Marley and his wife Rita Marley.
