8.- Bill Gates:

William Henry Gates III was born on October 28, 1955 in Seattle, Washington.

In 1975, Gates and his friend Paul Allen launched a new compnay: Microsoft, which became the world's largest PC software company. Gates was the chairman, CEO and chief software architect of the company until he abandoned it in 2014.

Both Gates and Allen designed Altair BASIC, which later developed into Microsoft BASIC, a high level programming language. Then IBM contacted with Microsoft in July 1980 because they needed an operating system for their new IBM PC and they developed MS-DOS. Microsoft became then one of the main industries in the computing world.

On November 20, 1985 they launched Microsoft Windows, which became the most popular operating system.
