Asia is the largest continent and covers one third of all the land on Earth. It is also the continent with the biggest population (most people) living there. China and India are the world's most populous countries with around 1,4 billion people living in China, and 1,3 billion in India.
Asia extends from the Arctic Circle in the North, to the warm tropical waters of the Indian Ocean in the South, the Ural Mountains in the West, and the Pacific Ocean in the East.
The highest mountains on Earth, the Himalayas, are here; including of course the highest mountain on Earth: Mount Everest with 8,848 metres. The Himalayas separate the plains of the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau.
