1.- What is Digestion?, Why is it so important?
The digestive system carries out a very important role processing the food and drink we consume to fuel the body, and then it deals with the waste by-products. Let's start by defining the word "Digestion" and understanding why it is so important for our body
Digestion can be defined as the complex process of turning the food you eat into the energy you need to survive and the substances and nutrients everyone needs for growth, repair and maintenance of your body tissues. The digestion process also creates waste that needs to be eliminated.
Our body needs food and drink to get energy, vitamins, and minerals to work propely and stay healthy.
However, in order to use the food we eat, we must first break it down into the nutrients that the different organs and cells in our body will use. That is the job of the digestive system.
