Animals in forest habitats. Forests are one of the most common ecosystems in our planet. There, we can find a great diversity of animals. Larger mammals: such as bears, deer and elks, which travel in gangs to protect their offspring; wolves, which live in groups, called packs; wild boars or lynxes.
Small mammals: There are many different small animals living in a forest, most of them feed on fallen fruit, seeds, plants or other small animals. You might find squirrels, rabbits, foxes and bats, for example.
Birds: There are larger ones like eagles or owls and other smaller birds such as falcons, nightingales, pigeons or partridges.
Amphibians: There are a large number of different frogs, toads and salamanders.
Reptiles: You might find a lot of snakes and lizards. In warmer areas, turtles can also be found.
Insects: There is a wide variety of insects such as beetles, spiders, bees, wasps, flies and worms.
