Let´s go further

We have seen that the munitionettes received on average half of what the men were paid for doing the same work. Unfortunatelly this is not an isolated case, a problem in the past or a problem focused only in some countries. Disparity in wages, the gender pay gap, is a universal problem not yet resolved. Despite the achievements in women´s rights there, is still so much left to do.

International Women's Day (March 8) is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

The World Economic Forum predicts the gender gap won´t close entirely until 2186. This is too long to wait.

Work in group

Take on the role of some members of the Spanish Parliament. You must present a programme with different proposals to combat gender inequality in your country.

  • In order to do a reliable and convincing project you need to provide some data that you can find in the World Economic Forum web site.
  • List your proposals and the objectives you want to achieve with them.
  • Choose one member of the group as your representative to defend your project.
