munitionette worker who died poisioned

Charlotte 'Lottie' Meade was a munitions worker during the First World War.

She died of TNT poisoning contracted on duty.

Her death certificate recorded that she lived in North Kensington in London 

  • She was one of the thousands of women that were employed in munitions factories during  World Word One (1914-1918).

  • They were known as munitionettes.
