The main motivation of ATOMIC is to provide to the community an open source tool that can be easily modified and that does not require too much technical knowledge to access the Augmented reality technology. It was created as a front end (Graphic Interface) for use ARToolKit library without having to know programming. The first developer of ARToolkit has been profesor Hirokazu Kato. It was written in the programming language Processing and is licensed under the GNU GPL. The 3d model you load it's up to you.

Vuforia is an Augmented Reality Software Development Kit (SDK) for mobile devices that enables the creation of Augmented Reality applications. It supports a variety of 2D and 3D target types including ‘markerless’ Image Targets, 3D Multi-Target configurations, and a form of addressable Fiduciary Marker known as a Frame Marker. Additional features of the SDK include localized Occlusion Detection using ‘Virtual Buttons’, runtime image target selection, and the ability to create and reconfigure target sets programmatically at runtime.

O termo Vuforia refírese a un Kit de Desenvolvemento de Software (SDK) para dispositivos móbiles que posibilita a creación de aplicacións de Realidade Aumentada.

O SDK é capaz de soportar unha gran variedade de marcadores, sistemas sen marcador, multimarcadores, botóns virtuais, etc.

Para poder empregalo, en calquera buscador tecleamos a palabra crave Vuforia para acceder ao portal e, unha vez dentro, crearemos unha nova conta enchendo unha serie de datos persoais.
