WHEN I CAME TO GALICIA

It was a real surprise. My Mom had told me about it: "it a fantastic land, with wonderful people and customs". And then we came to our Galician village. Everything was new for me. And it was all new.
One of the first things I enjoyed was Galician music and dance. People from all ages: old, young. children, ... And together with music, FOOD, all time.

It was very nice. People sang every day, not only at parties. There was a choir in town, and my parents usually took us to see and hear it. Again people from all ages, singing together, laughing together.

There is a small theater in town. They often perform plays, sometimes famous, and sometimes not. I especially remember one by Shakespeare. I liked it a lot because I used to read Shakespeare with my Mom when I was younger. And I saw my neighbours again, performing, and enjoying it, as usual.

As my town is not a big city, I discovered there still were traditional jobs: people who mended shoes, or who knitted with very old machines and devices.  I sometimes go and visit them, just to see and learn what life used to be like a long time ago.

The public library, one of my favourite places. I usually go there, and sometimes I meet some friends in it. We read books, comics, magazines, and we also watch movies, listen to story-tellers, or simply draw on a paper. Everything there is funny and interesting. And the best thing is that the library is just five minutes walk from our house!!

We also have a local radio station. There are programs every day, and you can hear it anywhere in town. They have sport programs, cultural ones, and others. On Saturday mornings, they have a special program for children, with music, interviews, games, and so on. I want to participate on it, and maybe one day I'll go there and ask for a place to cooperate.

MY CLASS
I made a drawing of my class. Do you like it?
Let's play a game. Say if these sentences are TRUE or FALSE:
THERE ARE TWO HANGERS ON THE WALL.
THERE IS A RED NOTICEBOARD.
THERE ARE THREE TEACHERS IN CLASS.
ALL STUDENTS ARE USING A COMPUTER.

ONE STUDENTS IS POINTING AT THE TEACHER.
WE CAN SEE FOURTEEN DESKS.
WE CAN SEE A CALENDAR WITH A PICTURE OF THE DESERT.
THE TEACHER IS A TALL MAN.

THE HIDDEN HISTORY OF MY TOWN
My granpa Suso always tells me that our village is very old. As old as the medieval times. And one day he took me for a walk, to show me the remains of those times. We saw some parts of an old stone wall. It was used for protection. And the wall had several gates, with a pointed bow. When bows are pointed it means they belong to the GOTHIC style. There are still medieval houses, as you can see in the photos below.
And then the churches. They are medieval, too. They were built by people from the town, and they were financed by noblemen, who then were buried in them.
The streets are also medieval, but they were based on other cultures, because there was a CASTRO on the very same place. That is whay there are so many slopes, and streets going up and down, up and down...Ufff, how tiring!

FIRES IN THE FOREST
When my granpa Suso told me there are many intentionate fires in the forest...I COULND'T BELIEVE IT!! HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT PEOPLE SET FIRE TO NATURAL PLACES?
Then I started investigating about all the animal species that are typical in Galicia. And then I drew them.
These are the animals that may day every time there is a fire.
