PRESENT PERFECT

1.- Structure a) Affirmative (I)

The Present Perfect is formed with a present tense form of the verb "to have" plus the past participle of the verb (I have studied, she has come ...)The past participle can be regular or irregular
Regular verbs use the verb's base form (live, work) plus the -ed ending (lived, worked). In the table below you can find some regular verbs and their spelling rules:
ADD -ED
ADD -D

ADD "-IED"

DOUBLE CONSONANT
CLIMB - climbed LIVE - lived CRY - cried TAP - Tapped
WORK - worked DATE - dated STUDY - studied COMMIT - Committed
SHOW - showed MOVE - Moved TRY - tried STOP - Stopped

Most of the verbs add -ed. If a verb ends in "e", we only need to add the letter "d" to form the regular past form.

If a regular verb ends in consonant + "y", we need to change the "y" to "i" and add -ed. If a verb ends in consonant + one vowel + consonant: Double the final consonant and add -ed
