- Translation movement: the Earth revolves around the Sun and it describes an elliptical orbit, spending 365 days and 6 hours. The translation movement causes the four seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring.
Another consequence is the different duration of the day and the night. In summer days are longer than nights. Winter nights are longer than days.
